Lynn has been involved in economic development throughout his careers as a practicing attorney, as Assistant Vice President for Real Estate and Economic Development and Associate Counsel at Indiana University, and now as President of the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC). Lynn received his undergraduate and law degrees from Indiana University and has served in community leadership roles throughout his career. He brings a unique perspective to economic development from his experience in the private sector and inside a large research university. He has served as president of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the BEDC and is currently vice chair of Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital which recently announced a collaboration with Indiana University for a regional academic health center. He has received the Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award, the Indiana University President’s Distinguished Service Medal and Indiana University Maurer School of Law’s Distinguished Service Award.
Marilyn Skirvin has been with the organization since 1998. Previously, Marilyn held the position of Special Events/Volunteer Coordinator for Bloomington Hospital Foundation. Other experience includes City and County government, and human resources. Marilyn Skirvin is a lifelong resident of Bloomington and Monroe County, with the exception of three years living in Florida. She is the mother of two grown children, a son and daughter both of whom own their own business. Marilyn is alum of Leadership Bloomington Monroe County, and serves on the advisory board of the Monroe County Historical Society, as well as the SCI REMC Operation Roundup Board.
In her role at the BEDC, she works to recruit new businesses, retain existing business, and attract talent to Bloomington and Monroe County. Dana graduated cum laude and with honors from the University of Tampa in 2008 with a B.S. in government and world affairs. After moving to Bloomington, Dana first held the position of hYPe Coordinator/Administrative Assistant with the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce before joining the BEDC. She previously held the position of Membership Coordinator with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of Leadership Bloomington/Monroe County and was voted Most Likely to Have a Future in Economic Development from Ball State University Economic Development Course. Dana sits on the hYPe (helping Young Professionals excel) Steering Committee, an organization to create a network of young professionals in the greater Bloomington area that fosters personal and professional development. She is also Secretary of the Board of Members Choice Federal Credit Union.
